At St. John's, athletics help our students grow in teamwork, discipline, and character. We offer a full range of competitive sports throughout the year:

League & Tournament Play

St. John's teams compete in the Christian Athletic League of Kern County (CAL), a league of local Christian schools that emphasizes skill, sportsmanship, and Christian values.

Beyond league play, we regularly participate in:

• Kern County Tournaments for Volleyball and Basketball

• LEST (Lutheran Elementary School Tournament) in Irvine, CA – a major regional basketball event

• West Coast Roundball Basketball Tournament – hosted annually by St. John's

• LBAA National Basketball Tournament in Fort Wayne, IN – where we've represented the Western region on the national stage

These events offer our athletes the chance to face top competition and create lasting memories while representing their school and faith.
